ONTRACK

Registration Now Open!  ONTRACK Registration Form 2018

We are excited to announce a new 8-week program for young adults between 13 – 18 years old attending high school, homeschooled, or part of an organization or group.  The program runs from March 26 – May 27 and includes fitness, training and nutritional elements. The program elements are supported by Craven SPORT services, a physiotherapy, training and fitness company in Saskatoon, with leadership from our ONTRACK ambassador, Tarrant Crosschild.

Participants will join bi-weekly training sessions with their leader leading up to race day where they will participate in the Saskatchewan Marathon 5K event. These leaders are adults (+18) identified by the school or organization. Throughout the program, participants learn about active living and nutrition, meet regularly with their team, and experience the satisfaction of setting and achieving personal goals. Based on our very popular MaraFun, we are excited to roll out this program over the next month.  For more information contact Bailey at saskontrack@gmail.com

Marafun

The program runs from March-May giving young people (Grades 1-8) the opportunity to run a marathon in a novel way.  For those of you who aren’t familiar, participants will complete 40km by walking, running, or wheeling over 10 weeks. This training will lead them to the Saskatchewan Marathon race day — Sunday, May 27, 2018 – when all the participants will come together to cap off their hard work with a fun 2.2K on part of the marathon course.  Throughout the program, the young athletes will learn about an active lifestyle, how they can maintain an active program to promote health and the importance of having personal goals. Creating these goals is what the Marafun is all about, providing them with skills to build a strong character that they can take into all facets of their life. This program is very exciting for participants and leaves them feeling very proud of their accomplishments. We invite you to take part in this amazing program.  All it requires is a leader and young participants.  The leader gets children to run/walk/wheel a specific number of kilometres per week (we have a program that you can follow) and coordinates attendance to the Saskatchewan Marathon.  We have a manual that each leader can download from the Marafun website.  The fee is $15 fee for each student and includes a t-shirt, a medal and a trip to the food tent on race day, along with incentives to complete the program and build a lifelong love of being physically active.  What next?

STEP 1 — REGISTER YOUR SCHOOL.(email Jeff with your School name, Team name & estimated # of students, then Jeff will send the online link for you to register)

STEP 2 – We will provide you with the registration package with complete details.

STEP 3 — REGISTER EACH PARTICIPANT online by March 12, 2017 (note parents must sign a waiver for students).

STEP 4 – The team leaders receives a weekly email with program details, nutrition tips and other items to share with their team. Then you are on your way!
