After some overnight rain, conditions at the start of this year’s event were ideal.  For the second year running, Teresa Fekensa was first in the marathon distance, and for the second straight year, his nearest competitior was a previous winner, Brenda Lunty (2:53:19 this year).  Teresa was well off his personal best of 2:15, which he ran in Germany.  The female first place finisher in the marathon was first-timer, Brooke MacDonald, just 90 seconds ahead of second place Cosette Lemelin (3:09:23).  Ruslan Kramariuk, a now frequent participant from Ukraine, won his fourth in a row in the half marathon distance in 1:12:45.  Kimberly Davy was first in the female division in 1:33:58.  In the GoodLife Fitness 10 Km, the winners were Tianna Dodds (41:28) on the women’s side and Nicolas Jirot (33:20) on the men’s.  The Craven SPORT Services 5 Km event is continuing to gain popularity and the participant numbers were increased again; winners were Kyle Caie of Saskatoon (16:09) and last year’s 5 Km winner, Courtney Huffsmith of Saskatoon (16.29).  The children’s Marafun has become an important and successful event – there were over 1,500 kids involved this year.
